Description
This magnificent view from the road along Wastwater's western shore was the first print that William published at the Studio in 1940, and it is still available today. Here he presents the forbidding trio of Yewbarrow, Great Gable and Lingmell in the midst of swirling curves of mist, with an unearthly white cloud curling over Gable's summit and crags, shaped by wind blowing down from the north-west.
