Wetherlam from Tarn Hows - Original Painting by Alfred Heaton Cooper (1863 - 1929)

Sale price£2,900.00

The east face of Wetherlam rises powerfully above Tilberthwaite in this view, painted in the calm of a summer evening from Tom Heights west of Tarn Hows.  Shafts of sunlight illuminate the little-frequented Holme Fell in the middle distance.

Once a scene of industry, with copper mines and slate quarries, Tilberthwaite is now a popular spot for walkers wanting to explore the area, with the paths created by miners and stone workers still threading their ways through the quiet lower hills and woodlands here.

Set within a subtle blue wash frame.
